Choosing a Location for Map View:

       - Moving the Map by dragging the screen will target a new location in the center of the screen, and calculate Sun and Moon calculations for the new location.

       - Use the Location Menu in the top right for various other options.
GPS will attempt to find a close approximation of your current location, and it will appear on the map as a green marker.
To reduce battery drain, the GPS radio is used only for a few moments to find your current location when GPS is pressed.

       - Use the Location Menu to search for, save, and open saved locations, or to enter coordinates in DDD format. Saved locations will appear as red markers.

       - Tapping the location markers will move the Map and calculate Sun and Moon information for the tapped item.

Time Zone for Location:

Use the "Time Zone Source" preference to select how to determine the timezone for your selected location. If viewing locations outside your timezone, use "Auto-Detect" or "Manual" to have the Sun and Moon event times displayed in that location's timezone.

Street View Panoramas:

The street view panorama button will appear when there is a panorama near the selected location available to view. This provides an interactive panorama of the scene with the selected Sun and Moon items projected onto it.

Locking the Location and Target Subject:

Map View allows you to lock down 2 points on the map: The location where you plan to shoot from, represented by the center of the compass overlay, and the target subject you are shooting, represented by a secondary green pin with a dashed line tethered to the compass center.

The two controls for this are the Location Lock Icon and the Target Pin Icon:

Location Lock Icon: Tap the Lock Icon to toggle the location lock. When the lock is selected, the location is locked and the Map can be dragged freely without changing it. When the lock is deselected, the location is unlocked and will be set to the center of the Map, as the Map moves.

Target Pin Icon: Tap the Pin Icon to toggle the target point lock. When the pin is selected, the target point is locked and the map can be dragged freely without changing it. When the pin is deselected, the target point is unlocked and will be set to the center of the Map, as the Map moves.

       - Distance information and bearing from location to target is indicated on screen.

Elevation

Elevation lookups can be enabled in the preferences. When enabled, a view will be shown indicating the observer and target elevations when applicable.

Once the shooting and target locations are locked, the difference in angle between the points will be calculated and shown in the elevation view.

Tap the elevation element to edit the elevations if desired.

Map Auto-Rotation

Auto-rotation can be enabled by using the compass icon on the map toolbar. When enabled, the map will rotate according to your current bearing. Make sure to calibrate your device compass to ensure the best precision.

Other Tips:

       - With both Location Lock and Target Pin icons unlocked, both the location and the target point will be set to the center of the Map, as the Map moves. This is the default behavior.

       - With both Location Lock and Target Pin icons locked, the Map may be moved freely without either changing.

Note: All values and calculations are approximate and can't be guaranteed to be 100% accurate. Mobile device compasses are not always precise and reliable; keep this in mind for critical usage.
